Jesus Heals a Paralytic
1Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."3At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!"
4Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 6But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home." 7And the man got up and went home. 8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.
Now look at verse two, when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "your sins are forgiven" Now hold on, who's faith? By the faith of the friends that carried the man to Jesus. How does that make sense?
Makes you go "what the?"

Rev,I've got to say this...
I try and read as many blogs as I can (which isn't many) and for all the hype surrounding the 'emerging missional church' stuff and the call to rediscover Jesus and mission and church, I am astounded at how few blog writers bother to even tackle the life of Jesus.
"Mission should be this" or "Church should be that". The same mistakes of the established church being repeated all over again, but this time with the back slapping arrogance of self-indulgant blogs.
The only place I seem to read anything about Jesus with any sort of regularity and substance is right here.
I salute you Rev, and put you in my book of people I want to be like when I grow up.
Thanks.
that made me cry a little. Thank you, that is the highest praise I have ever gotten, and I don't think I am worthy of it.
But my friend, it is all about Jesus isn't it? The emerging church to me is just figuring out what Jesus would be up to today in my neighborhood, and trying to act like that.
Thanks again,

I think thats what he's saying man-it should be, but so often its not. Keep up the good work tiger!
